Weekly Prayer
July 18-28
This edition of Weekly Prayer comes to you early since
I’ll be in St. Louis from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday
evening. Keep praying and lifting others up to our God.
This Week’s Scripture … Revelation 14: 13 … Then I
heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead
who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says
the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds
will follow them.”
Our eternal rest will be with the Lord on our last day or the Last
Day. We rejoice in the assurance of rest from our earthly labors.
In our prayers this week we remember Carey Weber who had successful
surgery on Wednesday, the 16th. Carey is home and doing
well. They have received the lab report and that showed no
cancerous cells which is what we have prayed to know. Carey and
Don are in good spirits and are thankful for the many prayers offered
on their behalf.
We continue to lift up Fritzie (who has moved to assisted living at
Heartland), Bill, Brad, Anna, Cathy, Pastor Friedrich, and others who
are in need of our prayers and God’s continued healing and
strength. We remember them and ask that God would meet their
needs in His time and in His way.
We pray God’s blessings upon the gathering of the Church
Relations Directors of CUS who will be on campus Monday and Tuesday and
also for those attending the Institute on Liturgy, Preaching, and
Worship who will be with us from Tuesday through Friday. May God
bless them with safe travel both to and from Seward and also bless them
as they gather to learn and grow in their service to God’s
people.
God bless you this week as you carry out your ministry,
Ron
